Concept description

Dr. Damur’s clinic takes us to the place where we make broken things alive again. It is time to resuscitate. We learn, collaborate, enjoy the process, create and have fun while having some drinks together with the doctors (guest designers), assistants, friends and colleagues.
#DAMUR will present a workshop on how to upcycle your old clothes at Ahoy Berlin Event Space. In this open event space there is room to go into a more intimate conference room to create a workshop environment to teach the audience about upcycling and how to makeover their clothing item with a touch of DAMUR and to give them a second life. This will be done with embroidery, patchwork or just a simple needle and dread. The guest will arrive at this location and we will have a small get together with a welcome drink. We will draw attention to explain the purpose of this workshop. The people will move to the smaller room and start to enjoy the workshop while being able to turn something from themselves to a #DAMUR piece . After the workshop they will all have their own little goodie bag in which they can find a mask, #DAMUR stickers, pencils, snacks and one more patch to do it again at home. Furthermore there is a possibility to look at our collection to see how we have done this upcycling ritual for various clothing items.

Sustainability / innovation

Sustainability and innovation are our key focus for this event. The sustainability here is that the people actually create a new loved item out of something that was just in their closet for a long time waiting to be thrown away. Innovation is all about the theme and the creative aspect in this project/event, we take advantage of the time and place and our upcycling journey is innovative and sustainable, which we would like to pass on with our knowledge throughout this event.
